Applications to Lancashire Crimebeat
How can I be involved?
Crimebeat offers a great chance for young people between the ages of 5 years
of age and 25 years of age to show what they can do and how their project can help
them and others in their area.
Can I get some funding?
Crimebeat will give grants of up to £500 to assist in setting up projects
that will impact on community safety issues. Priority will be given to projects
which emphasise the part to be played by young people themselves and can show the
influence the project will have on other young people and the wider community.
Do I have to apply for a grant?
Some projects will not require any funding at all - just lots of commitment and hard
work from the young people involved. If your project does not require any funding but
you want some recognition for your work you can submit details of your project to Crimebeat.
First of all, whether you want funding or just recognition,
have a look at the criteria
to see
if you qualify for Crimebeat. If you do qualify for Crimebeat but do not require
any funding simply send the completed application form to Crimebeat.
If your project is considered good enough, the High Sheriff may award certificates
to those involved.
How do I apply for funding?
If your project requires funding please check the criteria.
Once you are happy that you meet the criteria download an application form here.
There are only limited funds so please be sure to answer all the questions -
if you cannot answer all the questions you probably need to do more work before you
ask for funding.
National Crimebeat Awards
All Crimebeat schemes are championed by the local High Sheriff who each year
is invited to submit one project to the National Crimebeat Awards. Each High Sheriff
submits the best example he/she has found of young people working to create safer
communities.
The projects are judged against set criteria which emphasise the part played by
young people themselves and the influence their work has had on other young people
and the wider community.
